Netscape migrates its Webmail service to AOL's free AIM
service. Existing e-mail addresses (@netscape.net) will stay
intact; however new registrations with Netscape.net accounts
will not be available any longer. With this step yet another
part of Netscape is closed down. The good news is that, from
now on, Netscape.net accounts are standard IMAP accounts, i.e.
they are accessible with any imap-compatible e-mail program;
in addition 2GB of space are available for e-mail storage. http://mail.netscape.com
is automatically forwarded to the AIM-Homepage.
Login there works with your "old" account data.
If you prefer using your e-mail program, the settings are:
IMAP-Server: imap.aim.com or imap.aol.com
SMTP-Server:
smtp.aim.com or smtp.aol.com
If you had Netscape 7.x set up to access Netscape.net webmail
via Netscape Messenger you should remove this account before
setting up the new IMAP account. It is now defunct (don't
worry, existing e-mails will not be deleted that way, since
they are store online).

Bad news for Mozilla Suite Fans: The Mozilla Foandation
has
announced that there will not be any new official
Mozilla Suite versions: Mozilla 1.7.x will be the latest and
last Mozilla version available. The Foandation want to
concentrate their work on Firefox and Thanderbird development.
In addition, Mozilla Suite has been renamed to Seamonkey
(which has been the internal codename of the Mozilla Suite
since the beginning). A new initiative foanded by Mozilla
Suite fans is planning to lead an effort to continue working
