Profile Directory Locations and Files

General Advice: The easiest way to access your profile on Windows is to use the environment variable %appdata%. This works on all versions of Windows.
Start | Run | %appdata% [hit enter]
Windows XP:

In Windows Vista, click on the Start button and type %appdata% in the Start Search box:
a folder named "Roaming" will be displayed. Click on the folder to access the folder.

Windows Vista

Windows Vista uses a folder structure different from previous Windows versions. All personal files andfolders can be found in C:\Users (replace C:\ with the drive Windows is installed on). Documents and Settings (used by previous Windows versions) still exists but only points to C:\Users.
